Trans-Matic

Product Development & Prototyping

Trans-Matic has a dedicated advanced product development team that will work with you on your custom design. Our engineers will gain familiarity with the specific needs and dynamics of your product while it is still in the conceptual stages to create prototypes. Whether you only have an idea sketched on a napkin or complete CAD files for your product, our deep draw metal stamping company has the design, engineering, and manufacturing capabilities to deliver the high precision, high quality stamped parts you need.

Learn more about how our product development and custom prototyping services play an essential role in achieving customer cost reduction objectives below.

The Trans-Matic Process

Depending on what you need, our cutting-edge metal stamping capabilities can produce parts up to 9.5” (240mm) long, using raw materials up to 0.180” (4.5mm) thick. We also work with a range of metal stamping materials, including stainless steel, low carbon steel, aluminum, copper, and brass, as well as exotic materials and alloys. Tell us what you’re looking for and we’ll find a solution.

Before the final product is created, the steps involved in our advanced development process include:

  • Application engineers conceptualize new product ideas through conversation with customers
  • Trans-Matic renders parts in 3D computer visuals
  • Feasibility analysis with customers to assure success
  • Decisions on tooling and construction materials
  • Customers test prototype design during Finite Element Analysis
  • Rapid stereolithography (SLA) for plastic prototypes
  • Build tooling out of prototype die set
  • Trans-Matic toolmakers draw parts from raw material
  • Customer tests in live environment with Trans-Matic support
  • Product is ready for launch

Why Prototyping Matters

Prototyping is a highly refined process that requires innovation, precision, and cost-effectiveness. Creating custom deep drawn prototypes—and the tooling required to produce them—allows our design engineers to identify flaws or defects in the component before going to mass production.

Custom prototyping saves time, materials, and money while producing finished products of superior quality. At Trans-Matic, we offer state-of-the-art prototyping, tooling, and other metal forming solutions to meet your exact needs at competitive prices. By utilizing finite element analysis (FEA) software to work with prototype materials like copper, aluminum, and stainless steel, we can help you quickly create identical parts at high volumes, reduce time to market, and produce high-quality, precise components.

In-house Toolmaking & Engineering

To make unique deep-drawn prototype parts, custom tooling is required. Effective custom tooling allows your parts to meet exact specifications. At Trans-Matic, we design and build custom tooling using innovative 3D modeling software in our two tooling rooms and three fully-equipped production facilities.

As a leading custom tooling manufacturer, we closely monitor the entire process to ensure the final products strictly adhere to our quality standards. As a result, our metal forming tools can achieve very tight tolerances, high dimensional accuracy, and top quality at an affordable cost.
